Current Policy Section

The Current Policy section provides three groups of information.

  • Insurance Carrier and insurance policy details
  • List of policy holders
  • List of insured vehicles
Current Policy - Carrier and Policy Information Field Descriptions
Field Description
Carrier Name of insurance company that reported the policy

A > symbol will be reported before the carrier name if the policy was contributed by the consumer, not the insurance company.
AMB A.M. Best number from the insurance company

A value of 80000 is reported if the policy was contributed by the consumer.
POL The policy number reported by the insurance company
Type The type of policy

Possible values

  • AU = Auto
  • BO = Boat Owners
  • MO = Motorcycle
  • WC = Watercraft
  • XO = Other
NAIC NAIC (National Association of Insurance Commissioners) number

This is a number assigned to each individual underwriting company by the NAIC for identification purposes.

If the insurance company does not contribute the NAIC, this field is blank.
Inception The effective date the policy was originally written
Status The most current status of the policy

Possible values:

  • EXPIRED
  • CANCELLED
  • IN-EFFECT
  • DISPUTED (consumer has disputed specific items or the entire policy.)
POL State State where the policy was written
Last Cancel Reason Reason code for the most recent policy cancellation if applicable

  • If the policy is not cancelled, this field is empty.
  • If the insurance company does not contribute the reason code, this field is empty.

Examples of possible values:

  • COMP = Cancelled by company
  • CUST = Customer request
  • LAPS = Lapse/Expiration
  • MISR = Material Misrepresentation
  • NONP = Non pay
  • OTHR = Other
  • RTCK = Return Check
  • SOLD = Sold
  • TRAN = Transfer
