Driving Record Section

The Driving Record section provides several types of violations and the information that may be returned with each type. On the report, the violations are numbered and presented in ascending date order.

The following table describes the fields that could be returned in the Driving Record section of the report.

Driving Record Field Descriptions
Field Description
Type Type of incident or action
State Violation Code Violation code assigned by the state
note.pngNot all states return violation codes. California and Colorado may return multiple violation codes for the same event.
Customer Specific Code Unique code that you use to identify the violation

The CSC (customer specific code) values are assigned by you to the SVC.

Driving Record Description Incident description reported on the subject's driving record, as specified by the DMV (Department of Motor Vehicles)

If your account is enabled for LexisNexis® National Violation Search (NVS), LexisNexis® Violation Intelligence, or LexisNexis® Motor Vehicle Records―Driving Behavior 360 (DB 360), then a message, which identifies the source of the violation, is returned.

Standard Violation Code SVC assigned to the incident

If your account is enabled for NVS, Violation Intelligence, or DB 360, then the following alphabetic indicators may appear in the SVC value:

  • If the violation is provided by LexisNexis® Risk Solutions (and not by the DMV), then a C is populated in the sixth position of the SVC value.
  • If the violation provided by LexisNexis Risk Solutions is an out-of-state violation, then an N is populated in the ninth position of the SVC value.

Classification Category of the incident

Possible values:

  • Equipment Violations
  • Financial Responsibilities and Accidents
  • Miscellaneous Violations
  • Motorcycle Violations
  • Moving Violations
  • Parking Violations
  • Registration, Titling and Licensing
  • Serious Offenses (includes serious moving violations)
  • Uncategorized Citation or Assigned from MVR Status or Conditions
Point Assignment Number of standardized points associated with the incident based on the department
Commercial Hazardous Indicator if there was any commercial or hazardous material involvement with the incident according to the SVC

Possible values:

  • Commercial Violation
  • Hazardous Materials Violation
  • Unknown
Description Standard violation description about the incident
Points Number of points associated with the incident based on state-provided information. Points can be expressed as whole numbers, decimals, or text.
note.pngCalifornia and Colorado may return a total number of points for all violations associated with the same event.
Violation Severity Code Severity of the incident reported, according to the SVC
Additional Underwriting Additional information pertaining to the incident

Possible values:

  • Above Abstract Dismissed
  • Chargeable if 3+ Same Violations with 12 months
  • Chargeable Only with Other Permissible Violation
  • Contact the NV DOI to determine how this item may be charged for personal lines auto
  • Course Complete
  • First Offense Not Chargeable
  • First Violation Not Chargeable - ok with 2+hsehld
  • Four Point Violation
  • Nonchargeable violation
  • NV DOI has indicated this is not chargeable for personal lines auto
  • Out of State, First Offense Non-Chargeable
  • Out of State Violation
Speeding Speed of the vehicle during the incident according to the SVC
