  3. Ordering a VIN Only Report

    The following fields are required when ordering a VIN Only report.

  4. VIN Only and VIN Plate Only Report

    This chapter discusses the different sections of the VIN Only and VIN Plate Only reports. The report results are identical with the exception of the Inquiry section.

    The LexisNexis Claims and Police Reports web portal allows users to access claims and police reports through a single online portal.

    • Ordering an AutoCheck Report

      The AutoCheck report requires that you submit an account number, claim number, and a VIN (vehicle identification number) with your order.

        • Report Header Section

          This is the first section in your report. It contains report identity details, including the order date and report date of the requested data.

        • Recap Section

          This section summarizes the search results of your report order.

        • General Messages Section

          This section contains general information about your report order. This may include information such as the DPPA (Driver’s Privacy Protection Act) general message.

        • VIN Only VIN Plate Only Inquiry Section

          This section returns the data you entered when placing a report order. The only required inquiry data for this report is VIN (vehicle identification number).

        • VIN Plate Only Inquiry Data Section

          This section shows the data you entered when placing a report order.

        • Results Section

          This section contains the complete decoding of VIN (vehicle identification number) results, as well as the registered owner name and address information (if allowable per state grouping).

          • VIN-D-Code Descriptions- Automobiles

            Depending on the report type you select, the VIN (vehicle identification number) input and output may be decoded during processing and reported in your report's results records.

          • VIN-D-Code Descriptions- Motorcycles (M) and Trucks (T)

            Depending on the report type you select, the VIN (vehicle identification number) input and output may be decoded during processing and reported in your report's results records.

    • VIN Plate Only Report

      These topics discuss the different sections of the VIN Plate Only report. Field descriptions are included in the succeeding sections.

    • VIN Standard Report

      These topics discuss the different sections of the VIN Standard Report. Field descriptions are included in the succeeding sections.

    • Carrier Discovery Reports

      LexisNexis Carrier Discovery reports can be ordered using a VIN (vehicle identification number) or the subject's name and address.

  • Data Elements with Police Record Insights

    To access to the LexisNexis Police Records Data Elements tab your account must be set up for receiving both the police report and the police report data elements.  Also, under the account only the Admin (IDS_ADMIN) and Super Admin (IDS_SUPR_ADMIN) will see this tab.  All other user roles will not see this tab even if the account is set up for data elements.

    The user management feature is only available to users that have been granted an administrator role.

Results Section

This section contains the complete decoding of VIN (vehicle identification number) results, as well as the registered owner name and address information (if allowable per state grouping).

Decoded fields vary per state. For additional information regarding VIN decoding, refer to VIN-D-Code Descriptions- Automobiles and VIN-D-Code Descriptions- Motorcycles (M) and Trucks (T) for automobiles and motorcycles respectively.
